A Georgia that supports our veterans and honors our promises
Georgia is the proud home of some 700,000 veterans and over 120,000 active-duty members, reserve members, and civilian employees of the military. We owe it to our service members and their families to honor our promises and support them, both while they serve and as they transition out of service. Stacey is committed to investing in our military communities and bases and ensuring that every veteran has the support they need to thrive in civilian life.
As Governor, Stacey will:
- Improve transitions from service to school and career
- End veteran homelessness in the state of Georgia
- Protect our military bases against closure through investments in infrastructure and education
- Respect the diversity of our troops
- Meet the challenges of veterans in rural communities
Stacey’s Record:
- Led the “Promise Kept” initiative in support of veterans and military families
- Enacted bipartisan measures to help veterans and military spouses receive temporary occupational licenses
- Supported expanding access to Medicaid to military families
- Protected employment of national guardsmen when they are called to serve
