Gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, has officially opened her Savannah campaign office. The grand opening on Saturday was in conjunction with the campaign’s first statewide Day of Action of 2018.
The new office space is located on Oglethorpe Professional Court and will be a space for local campaign volunteers to make phone calls, plan events and help engage voters.
While Abrams’ home office is in Atlanta, the Savannah office is just one of many that she is opening across the state of Georgia. Others will open in Hinesville, Columbus, Stockbridge, Albany, Augusta, Rome, and Cobb and Sumter counties in the coming weeks.
“I am thrilled to share that our campaign’s work to reach out to voters in every part of the state is scaling up,” said Abrams. “Engaging with families in the communities where they live, and asking them how we can build a stronger Georgia together, is essential to fighting for progress in our state.”
Each office is donated by local supporters. The new Savannah location was donated by Representative J. Craig Gordon (D-Savannah).
“To move four hours out, away from her main city, it shows that she is not just trying to center herself in one place,” said local supporter, Spencer DeMink. “She is trying to reach out everywhere in Georgia. Every single county and city, big or small, she is trying to help you.”
